Mcdo Break

My friend, Xiela, arrived from europe last weekend. She's one of my childhood buddies. It's been almost 2 years since her last visit. We finally get to bond tonight. We ate at our fave chain.... McDonalds!!!! We did a lot of catching ups..... It felt so good to be sharing a part of me with someone who really cares. Can't wait for our next session.... hopefully, our friend Leah from Cebu will pursue her plans of coming over to spend new year with us.

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!!

It's Christmas time once again!!!! I'm so happy that my brother from manila came over to celebrate christmas with us. It felt just like the good ol' days.... those days when we were still young and we would gather around the table to have our noche buena. A little sad because my hubby went home to zamboanga to celebrate christmas with his mother. We had our usual exchanging of gifts. I got a wallet from my sister and a purse from my soon-to-be sister-in-law, Sue. Ronald surprise with a gift that he left under our christmas tree before he went home to zamboanga. It was a watch, an elegant yet simple watch, the very thing I want for christmas.... Thanks byngks! We had our yearly reunion last night and it was a blast! Everybody was having fun with the food, games and gift giving sessions! Indeed christmas for us is something to look forward to every year.

Vertigo Attacks

Last week was definitely not my week. While I was driving on my to meet my hubby after my, I suddenly felt dizzy. I tried to focus on my driving since I am just a few blocks away from where my hubby was waiting for me. When I finally reached him. I let him drive and sank my head into the car pillow. When we reached home, I never said a word to him and went directly to bed. I woke up early to pee and was shocked to know that I still felt the dizziness and this time I almost lost balance. I slowly went back to bed and told my hubby to drive me to the hospital because I need to have myself check. When we got to the hospital, the doctor told me that I have vestibular neuritis and that causes my loss of balance. It was an awful experience being not able to stand and do things alone. It went on for more than a week. Boredom set in and I felt so helpless. Now, I am slowly gaining my skills without assistance anymore. Thank God!

Cry for Help!

Last Saturday, the country was hit by a raging typhoon. It was so devastating and nobody was prepared for it. The most affected area is the metro manila area. Water was all over the place flooding every house up to 5 to 6 ft high. Many cars were stranded and eventually washed away with strong current. People from every walk of life are all victims. Even subdivisions that are not flood-prone are now submerged uinderwater. Many lives were lost due to drowning, hypothermia and maybe starvation. Many lives too are lost while risking to save other people's lives. The Philippines needs our prayers and our support. We proved to the world many times before that we are a resilient country, let us show to the world that we still are. Be strong Philippines! Hold On....

Accident

This morning my dad had an accident during his gym session. A 15 lb dumble plate hit his forehead leaving a 2-inch open wound on it. He was bleeding profusely when his friend found him. My mom and I hurriedly went to check on him and brought him to the hospital. The doctor had his head x-rayed and the wound stitched up. He will be under observation for 24 hours. Im praying and hoping that he will recover well without any complications.

MHC RR-SICU Bonding

Last September 18, the mhc rr-sicu staff went on an escapade! We decided to invade the wonderful place of Kapatagan. We left Davao City at around 9:30 and arrived at the place near 11 am. we had a late breakfast and then later, prepared our lunch. The place was own by the aunt of my co-RR nurse. We were lucky enough to have the place exclusively for us and of course for free! It was a breathtaking experience considering we were on top of a mountain and all we see are the green trees, elegant mountain and the great blue sky. We hit the pool right before we had our lunch, we just couldn't resist the tempting the cold blue water. Here are some of the pics taken during that day! have fun!

Reunion

Yesterday, my cousins from Manila arrived. We are having a sort of a reunion since we haven't seen each other for a while and some of them have not visited davao for the longest time. They are planning to go to the different attraction sites here in davao such as the crocodile park, pearl farm beach resort and just yesterday, they went to eden nature park. They will only be here for a short period of time, so we are really trying to fit everything in.

"WATCH-out"

Since my high school days I have been wanting to own a ROLEX watch. You may wonder how I came to know the brand ROLEX. Well, it first came to my senses when a contest was held asking the contestants to name all the different watch brands in the market and one the contestant mentioned Rolex. I was intrigue by the name so I looked into and fell in love with the watch instantaneously. The designs are extraordinarily elegant and classy. The silvery straps are exquisitely genuine that it would not harm your skin. A lot of the Rolex watches, especially the ladies watch comes with diamond studs that would surely melt all the ladies' hearts. Did you know that to distinguish a genuine rolex watch from the fake ones is the serial number that is engraved on it? Well better start looking into rolex watches and see if it bore a serial number. For those of you who are interested and are looking for rolex watches, check out this site, www.bestoftime.com. There you can see Rolex watches in different colors with different designs to choose from. Best of Time also offers product warranty and unbelievably great discounts when you purchase one of these elegant Rolex watches. So what are you waiting for? Check the site and own a Rolex!

Extremely Happy!

This morning, Ronald arrived from Manila after 4 days of seminar. I realized that I really missed him a lot. I thank God for the safe trip home. We went to the supermarket this afternoon to fill in our empty grocery rack and visited my parents after. I am glad to be able to spend time with him again. Will make the most out of it coz the week after next, he will be going on a trip again. I guess I just have to accept the nature of his work.

100% Pure Fun!

Last night was a blast! The RR-SICU staff and some of East Wing and CCU staffs started the night with a casual dinner. Me and two of my colleagues arrived late. Some the peeps were already hitting the video-oke. After dinner, our beloved "boss" started a sort of a meeting, there he explained the reason of the unplanned get-together. The first agenda of the meeting was all about the technicalities of MHC. Issues on staffing and interpersonal relationships were tackled. The second part was all about our wishes for our Ate Karen who will be leaving for the States soon. We said our goodlucks and thank yous to her and of course our wish that she will soon find her one true love there. After the meeting, it was party time! We all took turn in holding the microphone, singing our hearts out. We stayed up until 1:30 in the morning. Left the place with a big smile in our face! Thanks for the treat boss!

thankful!

The nurses in the RR and SICU of MHC felt some kind of a relief when our pt. was extubated yesterday. Even our consultants feared that our pt will have a difficult recovery but with God's grace and mercy, he was able to pull through. Tonight, our doctor is planning to have a thanksgiving threat for all of us. We're going to have some well-deserved fun tonight! keep posted!

I want a CAR!

I may sound pathetic but my life now is in a slow paced. Without my car, I can not go to places I want to go and do the things that concerns going to different places without boarding a cab. It is indeed difficult having to move around especially if you're used to have your own car. I checked into some site the sells used cars and I'm glad to have found some cars that would suit my taste and needs. I was actually looking for an SUV that would defy the flooded areas that we are passing to and from our home. I am also considering the ratio of gas or diesl consumption of the car since prices are going up inevitably. I'm glad to have found this site. For those of you who are interested, check this site out!

No Show

We're supposed to leave for Zamboanga today for mamang's 60th birthday but for some unforseen circumstances that ronald had to go to manila for a seminar we were not able to use our plane tickets. A waste of money indeed. The ticket cost us around P3500. Sigh! I guess, life is always like this...full of surprises and changes. All we have to do is to be ready.

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was my hubby's 32nd birthday. He started his day by visiting the church near our home then he passes by the bakery to buy his favorite custard cake and headed back home. He woke me up and we ate the cake and the tuna sandwich I made the night before. Then, we headed to SM to have our lunch. We decided to binge on KFC's famous hot and crispy chicken and hotshots. We then went to buy short order meals for his office mates. After dropping by their office we went directly to my parents place. We waited till it's time to hear mass. After the mass we went to a buffet resto for a celebration. It was raining so hard that we stayed long enough to consume all their iced tea. After the heavy downpour we finally head home. It was a simple yet a very memorable day for byngky. Happy birthday!

Beautiful Song

This song just captured my heart. This song simply proves that true love really exist. This song is actually written by the late Sen. Ninoy Aquino for the late Pres. Corazon Aquino.Mr. Jose Marie Chan put the melody and arranged it into a beautiful song and now revived by Christian Bautista.

Here it is....

Scents-sational!

We all undeniably and inevitably want to smell good all the time. I, myself, am very particular with smell. I have this very picky nose. If ever I smell something that I don't like, my nose just express it all. It starts to flare and then commence with a very irritating sneeze. Sensitive huh? Because of this, I have been very particular with the kind of scent that I wear. I love the Clinique's Happy for Men for its mildness and Sarah Jessica Parker's Lovely for its sweet seductive scent. Lucky for us, we can now avail of this signature fragrances thru online perfume websites. For those who love perfumes and colognes this is the best spot for you. Try checking the site out and enjoy!!!!

Letting Go!

Just this afternoon, a potential buyer checked out my car. It didn't bother me at first. I thought he was just going to check the unit and bargain for our selling price. But then when he spilled out that they are going to buy the car, reality hit me, I am actually giving my car away. I really don't know what to think or feel as of this time. I'm so heartbroken. I love my car so much but its time to upgrade into something that could help us cut the cost of gasoline expenses. The buyer is going to see the car tomorrow for the second time. sob....

The Lady in Yellow

The news of President Cory's demise did not shocked me because as we all know she has been suffering from cancer to quite sometime now. What shocked me was the number of people who believed in her and paid tribute to her. Indeed she was the woman with the big heart. Her love for the Filipino people was incomparable, her devotion to the blessed mother is unfailing. She must have been a very good person, a very good mother, a very good leader to deserve all of the credits she is receiving right now. Lots and lots of people are stretching their patience out in falling in line just to have a glimpse of this amazing lady. Personally, I admire her courage and faith. She may only be a housewife and a mother but she surely took care of the Filipino people and deliver them to freedom. I salute you President Cory for a job well done and thank you for standing by the filipino. We, Filipinos will always be grateful for what you have accomplish.

Goodbye!

We bid our goodbyes as we attended the burial of baby Christian Angelo this morning. We were all moved to tears as we watched his body lowered to the ground. What broke our hearts more is when angelo's older cousins dedicated songs for him and when the younger ones (aging 3-5) were also crying as if they really understood why angelo has to go. It was a very solemn and touching ceremony. I pray that God will continue to bless the family he left behind and through angelo, may the bond of love they are sharing becomes stronger and deeper. Goodbye Angelo!

Brand New versus Second Hand

Right now, we are planning to sell my car. The problem is, we can't decide whether to buy a brand new car or a second hand car. We are currently considering the pros and cons... Brand new cars are obviously much more expensive over the second hand cars . But brand new cars guarantees good performance unlike the second hand cars. Still weighing things out as of the moment. will keep you posted!

I'm Ok now

Went to the wake of my friend's son who died of dengue and other complications. At first, i don't know if I'm going to see the boy inside the coffin but when I was actually there I couldn't help but approach the boy and look at his angelic face. It is then that I was able to say that I am ok now. I would like to believe that he is happy now, free from pain and suffering. The heaviness that I felt during his arrest were all gone. Thanks little Christian Angelo... trully you're an angel....

Keeping my faith!

Ronald left for manila this afternoon. Tomorrow will be his much awaited screening for their company's Davao branch head. I know even if he doesn't say so, he is somehow nervous and anxious. This will be a very tough, healthy competition for the position since the other person who is applying for the position is his friend. Am asking you guys to please pray for him. thanks!

Life's realizations

I am feeling down and could not believe what i have just witnessed. My friend's son was afflicted with dengue. Last sunday she admitted his son in the hospital where are currently employed. We never thought that this illness would lead into something very serious. Last wednesday, his son was transferred to PICU because his condition worsen. We came to see the boy last thursday and obviously he was not in condition but he managed to respond to every question we asked him. A very good boy indeed. Friday morning, my friend decided to transfer his son to a private hospital. When they arrived, it was known that his condition was far worst than what everybody expected. They had him intubated because the child has difficulty of breathing. They tried to hook him to the mechanical ventilator but his weak body could not tolerate it anymore. They settled for continuous ambubagging just to for oxygen into his body. I went to see Christian for the second time this afternoon. From what I saw last thursday to the boy in front of me, I could not believe that a single mosquito bite would lead into something fatal. Christian was now struggling for his life. A few minutes passed, the checked his blood pressure and it was extremely low. His heart rate was slowly going down until the PICU nurses could not hear anything. Residents and Christian's attending physician tried to resucitate him. After sometime, his heart started to beat again. We were again hopeful that he would get through. Not another minute passed, Christian had his second arrest. This time my friend decided to stop the resucitation. They already let Christian go. Sad but a very brave decision for a mother to do. My friend doesn't want her son to suffer anymore. Everybody in the room was crying, I was not... I don't know why, I just felt the need to be strong... I realized that death is inevitable and it can come to anybody anytime. I think we should really make the most out of everything while we have the chance to do so. Let our loved ones know that we love them, learn to forgive and ask for forgiveness. We only have one life to live.... have we ask ourselves.... How are we living it?

Kitchen Necessities

I've been scouting for some appliances, big or small for my kitchen. My renovation is close to completion already and I want everything in once it was done. Good thing, I am always updated with the latest, trendiest and most efficient appliances available through Shopwiki. In scouting, one important equipment that i must have in my kitchen and I think it very useful in my case is the Food Processors. Food processors is best if you don't know how to chop, slice or dice your vegetables. This is also very useful if you want to make a puree for your dips and sauces.
Another important must-have for my kitchen is a stand mixer. Since I love to bake cakes and cookies, stand mixer is very important. I personally prefer a stand mixer over the hand mixers because you can do other things while the mixing is going on. Hand mixers on the other is best if mixing that requires more than just whisking or beating. Also, hand mixers is best for small kitchen wherein you need not allot a place for it to stand, you just simply clean it and put it inside the cabinet for safekeeping.
Last, a new refrigerator is a must for me. Our present refrigerator is way too small to accommodate our frozen items and vegetables. In addition, I prefer a No-frost refrigerator this time since defrosting my old refrigerators eats much of my time.
Good thing Shopwiki is readily available for all the consumers. They have a wide variety of appliances to choose from. Plus, you will be guided to the right appliances once you look into their site. They have an elaborate description of each of the items, giving information about the products. So for all of you who are interested check out their site now!

Road Trip

Last sunday, the MHC RR-SICU team went on a road trip bound to Don Marcelino. We went to celebrate the birthday of our CV Head, Dr. Maruya. 3 vans were rented to accomodate the staff and left the city at around 6:30 am. It was a mixture of a smooth, bumpy and swirly ride. We arrived to the place at around 9:30. For lunch, we had roasted cow and roasted pig plus a number of viands and desserts. At around 3 pm we went to witness an actual cockfight. I screamed my lungs out went the fight started. In the end, Dr. Maruya's bet wont the fight. We headed home at around 4 and arrived at around 6 in the evening.

Glass Art at its Finest

I have always been fascinated with arts. For me, it is a form of self expression. I love to visit galleries featuring the works of famous local artists. In college, most of the time I stayed in the Arts and Literature section of our university's library. I spent hours and hours looking into the pictures of the different paintings and other architectural works of the medieval times. I basically love to draw and am somehow fond of music and love to dance, so obviously my artistic side sort of dominates my personality. I observed once a sculpture showdown were in they used different mediums such as ice, stone and wood. In one of our field trips we had in school, I was able to try molding a pot with the use of clay. Though mine was not that good looking but the experience I got is all worth it. But there is just one art that I would at least like to observe on and its not very common here in our country and the glass making or glass art. I've seen many demonstrations over You Tube and I love to really witness an actual glass blowing session. There only one person that I can really associate with glass art and that is Dino Rosin. He has this amazing site that displays amazing work of art. You can also place your orders online if you're interested to own one of his superbly designed glass arts. And, for those who want to see his works upclose and personal, Dino Rosin's works has graced numerous galleries all around United States.

Dad, You're the best!

Happy father's day to dad! We wanted to make this day a very special one to him that is why we are going to gather tonight for a dinner. Mom will be cooking dad's favorite Chicken Curry, I am in charge of the desserts, my cousin and little sister will be in charge of the other viands. Just a simple celebration to affirm dad that he did a great job in raising us as his children. So much sacrifice he has given that we cannot repay them all in any sum of money. The best thing we can give him and to mom too, is to better our lives and become responsible parents too for our future families. Love you dad!

Wazzup with me?

Its been almost a week since I did my last blog post and I realized it just now that I miss posting. I guess blogging a part of me now, a part of my system. I am looking forward to write more posts for you guys. I will try to recollect the events that happened for the past few days and promise to write about it.... keep on tuning!

Roaming Portugal

One of the countries that I love to visit someday is Portugal. Do you know why? Aside from the fact that the Portuguese are related to the Philippine history, I am fascinated with their rich culture and tradition. My husband and I wanted to explore the different tourist spots of the country. As this is a vacation, I looked into their Aeroporto de Lisboa website for some guidelines. A personal choice of mine is hotel that is beachfront like the Hotel Porto Santo. But we could not do this if we don't have a ride that would take us to these captivating places.I looked into some car services and I checked on 121 car hire portugal. The company is obviously efficient in their services and would guarantee costumer satisfaction. So if you are considering a trip to Portugal, might as well get the services these company.

HATAW GALAW sa DABAW

Last friday was a blast! I watched the show at Central Bank. I must say Marissa Sanchez is one hell of a singer!!! She's better than any other singer wannabees in the music industry. I wonder why she wasn't given that much break in the world of music. She's a total performer, she can sing, dance and makes people laugh. Eric Santos, on the other hand, balanced the show as he was singing pop songs. I am a big fan of him. His simplicity just exudes of what he really is a performer and a person. He definitely captured the heart of the ladies in the audience and also the mothers as he dedicated one song for them. But the show won't be a total blast if the Stand-up comedy diva would not be around to make "okray" the audience. Vice ganda is undeniably the best and the most intelligent stand-up comedian. She is very articulate, well versed and smart. She thinks so fast that there was no dull moment with her. Vice can also sing, and she has a beautiful voice too! Very talented indeed!

Want to be a Hacker?

After watching Sandra Bullock's phenomenal hit movie, The Net, I just can't help but get impressed on how smart are they with computers and curious of how they go about hacking into other person's computer and alter every important detail in it. I was amazed of how they easily get into another person's file with ease and with out a trace. Aren't you impressed on how they do it? I am. I personally thought that hacking is a very bad thing to do especially if you try to invade and disrupt operations like that of the government or even offices. But how do we do away with these malicious hackers? I encountered the EC-Council while going through the net. The council speaks of and promotes Ethical Hacking. This kind of hacking does not disrupt nor invades other private properties; it works on the legal side by simply counteracting any operations contemplated by the hacker. Aside from the fact that this is a high-paying job, this would also give a big impact on the IT Security as it would cause the illegal hackers to think twice before entering into other property.
To all of you interested, EC-Council is giving out courses that will make you a Certified Ethical Hacker in no time! Other courses they offer include Secure Coding, Security Fundamentals, Computer Forensics and Disaster Recovery. All courses are aimed to a better awareness on the security status of your own personal property and to protect them before it's too late.

Allergy Vs. Food Poisoning

Last friday something happened unexpectedly. My dad and I had fish with rice for a late lunch.I instantaneously noticed the itchy feeling after having a bite or two of the malasugue fish. I asked my dad if he noticed the same thing but there's nothing wrong with the fish. So I assume that since I have hypersensitivity or allergies to seafoods, only my taste buds noticed it. After lunch, I checked my emails then, I started to feel my pulse racing and my vision blurring. I tried to cough as hard as possible. Meanwhile, dad left to buy some motorcycle parts still with no symptoms. After a few minutes of trying to cough out hard in order to breath, I felt like vomiting. So I vomit, it is only then that I realized that I was red all over. It's the same rashes that appears when I eat foods that I am allergic to. I immediately called my dad, asking him how he was feeling. According to him he was fine, I asked him to buy me some medications. Little did I know, when he arrived at the drugstore he was not feeling good himself. He immediately drived home, as fast as he could. When he arrived, he went directly to the lavatory and vomited almost everything he ate for lunch. He was not looking good this time. His eyes were red and skin is flushed. We both took the medication and waited for it to effect. After a few minutes, dad's symptoms were subsiding but mine was worsening. After an hour, I vomited again, this time it was about 500 cc. I felt I was running out of air and literally weak. I rested and observed. After 3 long hours my symptoms subsided. Thank God! Lesson learned: Follow your instincts and don't push yourself to the limits. From now on, if I felt there's something wrong, I would stop and do away with it.

Landscape Experts at your Service

Now that our garage construction is finished, I would like to work on our garden and that would be at the opposite side of the garage. This would balance the front view of our humble home. I know that this would be a very tedious and expensive project but still I want to go for it. I envisioned a nice garden with an exquisite landscape. Since the soil in our place is very rich as evidence by numerous wild flowers and shrubs growing on it, I wanted my garden to be endowed with nice flowering plants like roses, mumps and gerberas plus and orchid garden. I also would want to include aerial plants along the pathways and corners of the garden. In the center would be a nice fountain. On the farthest side of the garden, I would like to place a Mini cottage with a grilling area with a mini kitchen. All of these things are just but an ambiguous picture of how I want my garden to look like. So, I wanted a concrete idea on landscaping and I found a great help in Phoenix Landscaping, the site that inspired me with their wonderful creations. Their designs are exquisitely unique and very elegant. With their great variety of expertise and good, quality service made their company know through Phoenix. I encourage you to visit their site and take a look at some of their best landscape design.

Computerization

Last Wednesday, my co-nurses and I attended a seminar on Computerization of our hospital's transaction. Personally, I was impressed with the moved to computerization and the advantages that goes along with it. The system was user-friendly, all personnel, computer literate or not can make use of it with ease. This new system will surely alleviate the work load of nurses and nursing attendants in the ward. In addition, the patient's watchers will have no difficulty in retrieving laboratory and radiology results. Hope this system will be implemented as soon a possible.

Trying....

Ronald left for Zamboanga this morning. It is the first time since we got married last december. I don't know what to feel. I mean, I'm glad that he will be able to visit his family. I'm partly sad because I will miss him for 4 days. I guess I now understand the feeling of my friends who are physically separated from their partners, especially those who are separated for years now. I can't imagine how much they miss each other. To do away with this misery, I divert my attention to my friends and of course preparing for my dad's birthday tomorrow. It's not easy not to think of him more often but I'm trying.

Suit Your Style

Dressing up is my day to day objective. All through my life, I have wanted to look good in front of everybody. I persuade my mom to buy me skinny jeans and off-shoulder blouses when I was in elementary as this was a fad then. In high school, I would save my allowance for the week to buy bootleg jeans or hooded shirts. When I was in college, I have this compulsion to go to every sale there is in the malls and factory outlets. Now, that I am working, I am all the more inclined to shopping as I am earning my own money. But, this time, I'm a wise shopper and not a compulsive shopper anymore. I always see to it that I get my money's worth in every item that I buy. I look at every detail, quality before going to the cashier. In shopping, I only go for trusted brands so as to get the feel of an authentic dress. One of the trusted brands I would say gave me so much happiness is AMIClubwear. From the first time I checked this amazing site until now, I always get the designer clothes I wanted. Just recently, AMI is giving away a $300 gift certificate as a way of saying thank you for their supporters who check their site over you tube. So calling all fashionista out there, read on AMI clubwear's official contest rules and get a chance to win the cash gift. Are you game? I am!

Miss me?

I miss blogging...it has been what? 4 days? I was busy over the weekend and I don't get to come over my parent's house to surf the net. I don't have my own computer at home yet. We are planning to buy one but every time we would go for it, something would came up and the money that we saved for the pc is going somewhere else. Maybe it not yet time. When could that be? I couldn't wait any longer!

Cars to the Rescue!

Cars? Again? Why not!!!! I just said in my previous post that I LOVE CARS!!! Cars have more than a hundred ways useful to human being. It basically made people's lives easier when used as a mode of transportation. For business, it made deliveries easier and efficient. For drivers, it can be their source of income by means of taxis and other public utility purposes. For travelers, cars mean a convenient and a comfortable trip. As I was browsing through the internet, I came into a site that speaks of another useful aspect of cars, and that is by using Car Title Loans. What about car title loans? How could it possibly be of use? I need further explanation so I look into
Car Title Loans Hayward and Car Title Loans Sacramento, sites that explained the process in full details. According to them, anyone can avail of the cash they need by loaning their car title loans think given that the title is clean and complete with registration. This system is also made readily available for those in need of emergency financial rescue through online registration and you can avail of the cash in an instant provided that you have all the necessary documents complied. So who says he or she doesn't need a car? I bet we all need cars! Agree?

Panicky

I am close to hyperventilating here! I haven't got any idea on how to provide a melody on tomorrow's responsorial psalm! I'm not in the mood to make music right now but I don't have any choice but to squeeze notes and tunes out of my brain or else, the psalmist will end up reading tomorrow psalm.... I wish this is just as easy as one, two, three but its not... I have to produce a melody that is liturgical and would most likely fit with tomorrow mood and tone! How could I possibly do that?....

Cars! Cars! Cars!

I have always been fascinated with cars. I know its unusual for girls to have cars as their fetish but that is who I am. When I was young, I used to play a role of a girl driving my own car with my friends as my passengers during our play session. Then when I was in sixth grade I forced my cousins to teach me how to drive a real car! Whew! That was an experience I would never ever forget. I was having a tachycardia the whole night and I could still feel my heart beating so fast after I woke up the next morning. From then on, I am more convinced that I would soon drive my own car in no time. High school days were the highlights of my driving career, my friend and I would sneek out her parent's car and drove it down to a quite place in the subdivision and practice driving the whole afternoon! In college, I get to drive my dad's jeep to the downtown and basically anywhere I wanted, and just last 2 years ago, my parent's gave me car of my own. Still not convinced that I'm a car enthusiast? Here's more.... If some of the ladies like me would surf the net for some latest trend in fashion, I would rather go to websites that features elegant, hi-class, state-of-the-art cars. I've seen lots of reviews about cars and I like the BMW videos the most. Actually, BMW is my ultimate dream! I also happened to check on the Honda videos as their CRV series interest me a lot. Just recently, after we arrived from Hong Kong, where I first saw a real jaguar, I checked out their Jaguar videos and was amazed with the car's performance. To all of you guys who are fond of cars, just like me... I bet you would enjoy these amazing website just like i did!

Pentecost Vigil

Tomorrow at 5:45 pm, we will be having the Pentectost Vigil Mass at Assumption Parish. This will be new event for us, not that we don't celebrate it every year, but it's the first time that we are going to celebrate it like the Easter Vigil. Will be busy preparing for tomorrow event starting tonight. Hope I could still get the chance to update you guys. Tomorrow, I will be a proud wifey too, my hubby's going to sing one of the responsorial psalm. *wink*

Nurses, all the Best for You!

Being a nurse, I say is one of the most fulfilling jobs in the world. Nurses unconditionally care for patients both well and sick. In addition, nurses had the privilege to be in touch with other people's lives. Plus! the best thing about being a nurse asides from caring is that nurses get to wear elegant scrubs. As much as it is a fulfilling job, being a nurse is also one of the most stressful jobs. As you can see, caring people other than your family or relative is a big sacrifice for the nurses. It is but rewarding to have some forms of activities, forums for nurses. While checking into some Scrubs or nurse-related activities over the internet, I discovered ScrubsMag.com that features almost anything and everything about nurses, their lifestyle, fashion, work-related issues, forums and tips and guides for a healthy living. Also in the magazine, features how nurses affects lives of the people they encounter, how patient's disposition change through nurses intervention.
When checking into the site you will be able to award a scrubbies certificate to your co-nurses whom you believe is a scrubby in the truest sense of the word. Also, as a nurse you can participate in their scrubs poll questions relating to our day to day activities. Another thing that made me more interested in scrubsmag.com is that they give tips about nurse's fashion in their On Duty section. Isn't great? I'm sure all nurses, from different parts of the world, can relate in this amazing site.

Inspired

I woke up today feeling inspired. I don't know why. All I know is that I wanted to do everything that pops into my mind before laziness sets in. I will be going to meet with my friend to get the musical score of this Saturday's Pentecost vigil, go the grocery and buy snacks for my 11-7 duty tonight. What else? hmmm.... will think of more activities..... any suggestions?

My Dream Furnitures

It simply amazes me to find my ideal furniture for our new home in just one click of the finger. Who would have thought that these home furniture are made readily available to the consumers? Being able to see the actual style and other specifications over the internet saves so much energy and time. In addition, the consumers can check each every furniture in one sitting. This minimizes the cost of traveling from furniture shop to another. This amazing website that I found surely helped me out in beautifying our home. One of the first things I looked into a furniture shop is the bathroom vanities, why? it is simply because bathrooms are supposed to be the refreshing area of the house, any guest who plans to stay in our home would definitely use the bathroom. So I wanted my bathroom to be elegant, clean looking and yes, refreshing.

Next, I would go to the section where it displays bedroom furniture. Since I'm a home buddy, I spend most of my time inside my room, surfing the net, lying on the bed, watching movies or television. As much as possible, I wanted our room to be as comfortable and spacious looking as possible. Now, that our garage is finally done and the lanai will be done in a week's time. I'm planning to buy outdoor couches to accommodate friends and other visitors, most especially that my husband and I are planning to have a house warming when all the construction is over.

If you are looking for the best furniture in town but have so little time to cover every aspect of it, try checking this website, a one-stop furniture shop. It would surely help you just as it helped me.

Having Fun

Just started my own farm at FARM TOWN in my facebook account. I'm still learning how to play the game but hey! I'm earning already. So far, I was able to harvest and sell potatoes. Hmmm... I have the feeling that I will be good at this, just need a little more practice. I could use some tips from you guys too. *wink*

Accessorize Yourself!

Since I was a child, I love to make beaded necklaces and bracelets for me and my playmates. When I was older, I was fond of jazzing up or accessorizing my attire especially when I am going out with my friends, go to the beach, window shopping, dining out and road trips. My high school friends and I loved to experiment on colors and beads to make into beautiful, elegant Lanyards. In college, I helped out my friends from the business administration division to make fashion necklaces and bracelets to sell in their booths during the BUSINESS WEEK affair. I guess I could never outgrow of my fondness with beads.
Just recently, I discovered an amazing site that produces elegant, durable and stylish Beaded Lanyards and I was delighted to see that there are many designs to choose from. You can also have your own beaded lanyards made for all kinds of occasions plus these lanyards have hangers wherein you can use it in the office or at your workplaces as ID or badge holder.
One nice thing about these world-class lanyards is that its makers have help lots of organizations through fund raising activities. What a best way to raise funds! If given a chance, I would really love to participate in this Fundraising Jewelry campaign. In that way I can be as fashionable and stylish as i wanted to be and at the same time helping the beneficiaries of the fund raising campaign,

Tired

Just arrived from my 3-11 shift. Caring for patients who are not difficult to handle is twice a burden than caring for critically ill patients. I was having a difficult time conveying to him the role of recovery room nurses, the stages of post bypass recovery and the like. I prayed for more patience and serenity so that I would be able to render quality care despite of the patient's lack of interest and cooperation. Hope things will get better tomorrow, will still be going on a 3-11 shift.

Understanding Islam

The last patient we had in the recovery room is an Islam. I get to ask him of the many cultures and traditions that they have. I came to know that they too has their own version of the rosary or the prayer beads. I also learned that Islamic women, by tradition, starts to wear veils and go on fasting as early as 7 years old. Its a nice feeling that I was able to get out of the stigma that Muslims and Christians can never go along. Our patient shared his experiences in their place and according to him, Christians and Muslims coexist harmoniously in their place. It has been nice having him as our patient, I personally learned many things from him.

Pass the Butter...pls.

Margarine was originally manufactured to fatten turkeys.
When it killed the turkeys, the people who had put all the money into the research
wanted a payback so they put their heads together to figure out what to do
with this product to get their money back.
It was a white substance with no food appeal so they added the yellow coloring and sold it to people to use in place of butter.
How do you like it?
They have come out with some clever new flavorings.
DO YOU KNOW...the difference between margarine and butter?
Read on to the end...gets very interesting!
Both have the same amount of calories.
Butter is slightly higher in saturated fats at 8 grams compared to 5 grams.
Eating margarine can increase heart disease in women by 53% over eating the same amount of butter, according to a recent Harvard Medical Study.
Eating butter increases the absorption of many other nutrients in other foods.
Butter has many nutritional benefits where margarine has a few only because they are added!
Butter tastes much better than margarine and it can enhance the flavors of other foods.
Butter has been around for centuries where margarine has been around for less than 100 years.
And now, for Margarine...
Very high in trans fatty acids.
Triple risk of coronary heart disease.
Increases total cholesterol and LDL (this is the bad cholesterol) and lowers HDL cholesterol, (the good cholesterol)
Increases the risk of cancers up to five fold.
Lowers quality of breast milk.
Decreases immune response.
Decreases insulin response.
And here's the most disturbing fact....
HERE IS THE PART THAT IS VERY INTERESTING!
Margarine is but ONE MOLECULE away from being PLASTIC...
This fact alone was enough to have me avoiding margarine for life and anything else that is hydrogenated (this means hydrogen is added, changing the molecular structure of the substance).
You can try this yourself:
Purchase a tub of margarine and leave it in your garage or shaded area.
Within a couple of days you will note a couple of things:
* No flies, not even those pesky fruit flies will go near it (that should tell you something)
* It does not rot or smell differently because it has no nutritional value
*Nothing will grow on it. Even those teeny weenie microorganisms will not a find a home to grow.
Why? Because it is nearly plastic. *Would you melt your Tupperware and spread that on your toast?

Is it meant to be?

Yesterday, mom and I went to GMALL to look for a new cellphone. I found one that I really really like but it was out of stock. Good thing also that I didn't have a cash with me so I am not tempted to look for other cellphone models. According to the saleslady the phone will be available the next day. So i said ok and will come back tomorrow.
I went back to the store this afternoon, this time with my hubby and they told me that the stock will be available by 3pm. So went down the ground floor first to withdraw some cash but to no avail, the machine was out of order. Arrrggghh!!! We had our lunch at KFC and went back to the store at around 3:30pm. When we arrived, the stock did not arrived. Was bad trip! I was move to think that maybe, just maybe the cellphone I'm eyeing for is not meant for me. Well, I'm still pushing my luck tomorrow. If it doesn't turn out well, then it is not really meant to be.

Diabetes (Part 1)

I decided to feature an article that would explain what diabetes is. Why? This is because I am all the more curious about this disease since our patient in the recovery has been receiving high dose of regular insulin plus a long acting insulin for her high blood glucose level.

Hope we could all learn from this....

What is diabetes?

Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases characterized by high blood sugar (glucose) levels, that result from defects in insulin secretion, or action, or both. Diabetes mellitus, commonly referred to as diabetes (as it will be in this article) was first identified as a disease associated with "sweet urine," and excessive muscle loss in the ancient world. Elevated levels of blood glucose (hyperglycemia) lead to spillage of glucose into the urine, hence the term sweet urine.

Normally, blood glucose levels are tightly controlled by insulin, a hormone produced by the pancreas. Insulin lowers the blood glucose level. When the blood glucose elevates (for example, after eating food), insulin is released from the pancreas to normalize the glucose level. In patients with diabetes, the absence or insufficient production of insulin causes hyperglycemia. Diabetes is a chronic medical condition, meaning that although it can be controlled, it lasts a lifetime.

What causes diabetes?

Insufficient production of insulin (either absolutely or relative to the body's needs), production of defective insulin (which is uncommon), or the inability of cells to use insulin properly and efficiently leads to hyperglycemia and diabetes. This latter condition affects mostly the cells of muscle and fat tissues, and results in a condition known as "insulin resistance." This is the primary problem in type 2 diabetes. The absolute lack of insulin, usually secondary to a destructive process affecting the insulin producing beta cells in the pancreas, is the main disorder in type 1 diabetes. In type 2 diabetes, there also is a steady decline of beta cells that adds to the process of elevated blood sugars. Essentially, if someone is resistant to insulin, the body can, to some degree, increase production of insulin and overcome the level of resistance. After time, if production decreases and insulin cannot be released as vigorously, hyperglycemia develops.

Insulin is a hormone that is produced by specialized cells (beta cells) of the pancreas. (The pancreas is a deep-seated organ in the abdomen located behind the stomach.) In addition to helping glucose enter the cells, insulin is also important in tightly regulating the level of glucose in the blood. After a meal, the blood glucose level rises. In response to the increased glucose level, the pancreas normally releases more insulin into the bloodstream to help glucose enter the cells and lower blood glucose levels after a meal. When the blood glucose levels are lowered, the insulin release from the pancreas is turned down. It is important to note that even in the fasting state there is a low steady release of insulin than fluctuates a bit and helps to maintain a steady blood sugar level during fasting. In normal individuals, such a regulatory system helps to keep blood glucose levels in a tightly controlled range. As outlined above, in patients with diabetes, the insulin is either absent, relatively insufficient for the body's needs, or not used properly by the body. All of these factors cause elevated levels of blood glucose (hyperglycemia).

Coffee Cat

I just arrived from the opening of the newest Coffee shop here in Davao, the Coffee Cat. It is located along F. Torres St. near Zakoya and Coco's Grill. One of the must-try are their famouse ice blends and the green tea latte! Their revel bar and fudge brownies are superbly delicious too! Can't wait to go back!

My Dream Garden

Hopefully when our garage is done, our next project will be our garden. I want is landscape into a beautiful, serene Japanese style garden. Why Japanese? I just love the way they put all the green plants altogether making it a refreshing garden that would surely give you a peace of mind and a sound and healthy way of thinking. In addition, Japanese garden would need a less maintenance once everything is put into place. They key here is to find the right plants to put into the garden. In doing so, we really need the help of the experts in landscaping. I read on some of the famous landscapers in the United States just to have an idea on how to go about with this project of ours. Above all, I personally was fascinated with the brilliant ideas of the Washington Landscaper. According to them their expertise and reputation in this industry speaks of the quality service they offer to the clients. Moreover, the company ensures an elegant lawn with the finest plants and a continuous service through follow-up plant fertilizer treatment and other plant and garden maintaining services. One thing that made me admire this company is that they give justice to what they are being paid for and they don't the money in between their client-company relationship.

Off to Cagayan and Camiguin!

OOooppss not me! my family is. I wasn't able to join them due to work schedule. I would really love to be with them because I haven't been to camiguin and also it's my mom's birthday on the 10th plus it's going to be mother's day that day. I'm praying that they will have a safe trip and good health through out the trip. Take Care Guys! Love You.

Too Loud!!!!

I am honestly adjusting with my life right now, having to live in our new home that is quite far away from my parent's home. I have to deal with the distance as it would take me 30 to 45 minutes travel from the downtown and in addition is the Subdivision where our house is located doesn't seem to have a friendly neighborhood. One problem that my husband and I experience almost everyday is the annoying sound of some huge dogs that our neighbor has. Their barks literally make the glasses of our windows shake and we can barely here the television if the 3 of them barks altogether. In addition, these dogs smell pretty bad too and it is so infuriating that our neighbor placed the dog cage opposite to our kitchen wall. Sometimes I resented my husband for buying a house and lot in that subdivision. I am personally looking for ways to eliminate this problem without offending our neighbors. I encountered this one article on Home Soundproofing Technology and was so glad to have found a solution to our problem. According to the article the soundproofing treatment has many beneficial effects on our home asides from the fact that this treatment eliminates noises from the outside, it also includes a protection from potential allergens, maintaining moisture and controlling the humidity inside the house. I guess this is the best solution there is for such a big problem like ours.

X-Men Origin: Wolverine

Last night Ronald and I watched the X-Men Origin: Wolverine at SM. I am really a fan of the X-Men even before when I was still in my elementary days and the local channel showed the cartoon version of it. My brothers and I would gather around the television every Friday night to watch the cartoon. I must say that the Wolverine movie is very nice and very detailed. Hugh Jackman is the best and the right choice to play Wolverine. He gave justice to the role and brought Wolverine to life. I didn’t even know that Wolverine has a lovelife and he’s been through worst till I watched this movie. I wonder who is going to be featured next. Who do you think?

The Best Realtors

Realtors play major role in our lives. They are professionals whose expertise concerns the real estates. They are trained to make unbiased appraisal of property values and determines the market value of certain property basing on the property's condition and location. A realtor or a broker is licensed to help consumers who want to purchase a home or sell their house and lot.
So, finding a realtor is very crucial. I personally believe that we should look for licensed and accredited brokers so that we are assured that we are not taken advantage of and also we get our money's worth. I read on a few sites that advertise Realtor but one site caught my attention. The Dallas Realtors ensure quality service with honest to goodness feedback and affordable service fee. If you are the one who wants to sell your home, you are rest assured that they will market your home and your property with a very reasonable prize. In this ways you will have no regrets in selling your properties. And, if you are the ones who are looking for a place to live, the company assures you that you are given houses that would suite your preferences and needs. Let the Dallas Realtors help you now and you will never go wrong with every decision you make

Memory Lapses

Lately, I realized I am having frequent memory lapses and I was alarmed that this would mean something. How could I simply forget on things that I usually do and things I bring with me all the time. I read on the net to get some explanation because this lapses makes me anxious in so many ways already.

Memory Lapses: What's Behind Them?

People of all ages experience inconvenient—and sometimes embarrassing—memory lapses. Who hasn’t forgotten where they parked their car? But when older people are forgetful, many begin to worry that the slip-ups are precursors of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD).

Alzheimer’s is a real concern, but we needn’t fear that every slip is a sure sign. Memory loss happens to all adults, and only in some cases does it signal a serious condition. Here are a few definitions of the common causes of memory loss in maturity.

Normal Age-Related Cognitive Changes
Studies confirm that the ability to remetmber details about our experiences, to manipulate multiple bits of information at the same time, and to identify the source of what we have learned often declines as we get older. This process actually begins as early as age 30, though it accelerates and becomes more noticeable after age 50. Although these cognitive changes can be annoying—and ultimately, can limit your activities and interests—they are part of normal aging. Recent research has indicated that keeping your mind engaged in new and challenging activities can help to prevent or reverse this normal “cognitive decline.”

Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)
Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) is a term that’s used to describe a more serious kind of memory decline. Like those aging normally, people with MCI may complain their memory isn’t what it used to be, and their loved ones might agree. But in addition to these general complaints, they also do worse on certain memory tests compared to others in their age group. Unlike in Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, though, people with MCI do not show impaired judgement.

Scientists aren’t certain exactly how many people have MCI. Estimates range from 1% (about 350,000 in 2000) to 26% (about 9.1 million in 2000) of Americans 65+. For some people, MCI represents a transitional period between the mild and manageable memory problems associated with normal aging, and the debilitating symptoms of AD. Estimates vary, but a number of studies suggest that about 10% of those with a specific type of memory-related MCI go on to develop AD each year.

For more info on MCI, visit the Mayo Clinic website.

Alzheimer’s Disease
Alzheimer’s is the most common type of dementia. Currently an estimated 4.5 million Americans are afflicted with the disease. Unless effective therapies or cures are found, that number is expected to more than triple by 2050 as the Baby Boomers age and the number of people surviving into their 70s, 80s and 90s increases. That’s because older people are much more likely to get Alzheimer’s: while less than 10% of people 65+ have Alzheimer’s, over 47% of people 85+ do.

Scientists have been able to identify characteristics of brains afflicted with AD— neuritic plaques, neurofibrillary tangles, widened cortical sulci, and enlarged cerebral ventricles. So far, they have not been able to explain what actually causes the disease.

For practical purposes, AD has been divided into mild, moderate and severe stages that correspond to behavioral and physical changes. Cognitive symptoms that became more and more noticeable in the mild stage of the disease increase dramatically in the next stage. The moderate stage is also characterized by personality and emotional changes that may be challenging for caregivers to manage. In the final stage, physical problems dominate. Patients are unable to speak or walk, and they become incontinent.

Zombie

I am literally a walking zombie right now after 2 12-hour graveyard shifts. We don't have the luxury of time to rest our drooping eyes since our patient is still in a critical condition and his heart rate and rhythm is very erratic. Hopefully, I will be able to sleep the whole day today to compensate. Indeed being sleep deprived is no joke, it will surely bring out the monster in you! *wink*

What Up with me Nowadays?

Well to explain my absences in the blogging world....

I have been busy with few things like the garage construction, duties and choir practices. Then, I just finished reading the 3 of the 4 series of stephenie meyer. Now, half way through the Breaking Dawn book. This week will be an awfully busy week for me because I have to make more follow-up with the suppliers of the construction while at the same reporting for work. Hopefully I can still have time to update my blogs and do some reviews.

Facts that We Ought to Know

Death is certain but the Bible speaks about untimely death!

Very interesting, read until the end.....

It is written in the Bible (Galatians 6:7):

'Be not deceived; God is not mocked:

for whatsoever a man sow,

that shall he also reap.

Here are some men and women

who mocked God :

John Lennon (Singer):

Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said:

'Christianity will end, it will disappear.

I do not have to argue about

that. I am certain.

Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, today we are more famous than Him' (1966).

Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

Tancredo Neves
(President of Brazil ):

During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency.

Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died.

Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):

uring A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ),

while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said:'God, that's for you.'

He died at the age of 32 of LUNG CANCER in a horrible manner.

The man who built the Titanic

fter the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be.

With an ironic tone he said:

Not even God can sink it'

The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic

Marilyn Monroe (Actress)

She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show.

He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her.

After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said:

'I don't need your Jesus'.

A week later, she was found dead in her apartment

Bon Scott (Singer)

The ex-vocalist of the AC/DC. On one of his 1979 songs he sang:

Don't stop me; I'm going down all the way, down the highway to hell'.

On the 19th of February 1980, Bon Scott was found dead, he had been choked by his own vomit.

Campinas (IN 2005)

In Campinas , Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend.....

The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car:

'My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You.'

She responded: 'Only If He (God) Travels In The Trunk, Cause Inside Here.....It's Already Full '

Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died,

the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact.

The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken

Christine Hewitt
(Jamaican Journalist and entertainer)
said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written.

In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.

Many more important people have forgotten that there is no other name that was given so much authority as the name of Jesus.

ny have died, but only Jesus died and rose again, and he is still alive.
