Forgiveness and Baggage

The story is told of two monks traveling across the countryside. When they came upon a
woman sitting beside a river, they inquired "How may we help you."

"I need to cross the river and I can't," she replied.

The two monks offered to carry her across and proceeded to do just that. Afterward, she
thanked them and they continued on their way.

After a couple of miles, one monk began to complain that his back hurt. After five miles, he
sat down on the ground and threw a pity party. "You know my back really hurts. We shouldn't
have carried that woman across the river - now I'll be sore for days."

The second monk responded, "That's your problem. I sat that lady down five miles ago and
you are still carrying her."

Many of us carry bitterness throughout our entire life. It is unnecessary baggage. We must
learn to forgive.

Homesick

Yesterday was something I tried for the first time. I only stayed in our home the whole day.... alone. Watched television, read the NEW MOON book, do the dishes and cleaned the sink. I was literally a housewife! Screw me! I was bored to death, no cable tv and pc to divert my boredom. My husband arrived at around 7 pm, we ate dinner and watched the telenovela series over abs-cbn. Ronald went to bed early as he was very exhausted from work. I stayed up to watch SNN. My eyes started to dropped at around 11:30 so I headed to our room. As i lay myself to sleep, I felt tears rush down my eyes. I felt homesicked. I miss my mom and dad! I can't stop crying, tears just flow voluntarily. I woke Ronald up, he was wondering I was crying. I told him i miss my mom!!!! Asked permission to call my parents and he said ok. After I made the call, i was mellowed and eventually slept.

Passing thru the Red Light

Last Sunday while driving to the church, I was caught by the TMC with an offense of passing thru the red light. At that very moment, I prayed for calmness and serenity. I never answered him back because aside from being shocked, I respected him because he was in authority. He confiscated my license and gave me a T.O.P. There was nothing I could have done at that very instant, so I drove off. That incident lingered on me throughout the day that I literally ruined my entire day. I shared my experience to my friends and they encouraged me to speak out and question the TMC. The following day, monday, I went to see the cheif of the operations division of our local land transportation office and stated my side. She suggested that we should have a hearing the following day. Tuesday at around 2 pm, the TMC and I met again, I stated my case and he did too. The chief cannot decide who's at fault since we both didn't have a witness to defend our respective sides. Then, she decided to temporarily drop the case. Yesterday, I went back to LTO and so glad to have my license back.

Cellular Phone Precautions

Received this email from a friend and I guess everyone ought to know these facts for safety precautions.

These crooks are getting very good!

A lady has changed her habit of how she lists her names in her cell phone directory after her handbag was stolen.

Her handbag, which contained her cell phone, credit card, purse, etc., was stolen.

Twenty minutes later she called her husband, from a pay telephone telling him what had happened.

Her husband said, 'I have just received your text message asking about our pin number and I have replied a little while ago.'

When they rushed down to the bank, the staff told them all the money was already withdrawn.

The thief had actually used the stolen cell phone to text her husband listed in the directory and got hold of their pin number.

Within twenty minutes he had withdrawn all the money from their bank account.

Moral of the lesson:

Do not disclose the relationship between you and the people on your call list.

Avoid using names like
Home, Honey, Hubby, Sweetheart, Mom, Dad, etc..,

And very importantly, when sensitive information is being asked for through text messages,
CONFIRM by calling back.

Also, when you are being text by friends or family to meet them somewhere, be sure to call back to confirm that the message came from them.

If you do not reach them, be very careful about going places to meet 'family and friends' who text you.

PLEASE PASS THIS ON.

I never thought about THAT!

As of right now, do you have
'home' listed in
your cell phone directory?

Hong Kong Experience (The Avenue of the Stars)

Right after our Ngong Ping tour we went straight to The Avenue of the Stars. We took the MTR and had a short stroll along the mall that connects the train station and the avenue. We were lucky enough to witness the dancing of the hongkong building lights just before it ended. We situated ourselves in some of the steel table placed along the harbor. We took advantage of the beautiful hongkong in front of us by taking photos of almost all of the lighted buildings there are in the island fronting the avenue. I found my way thru jacky chan's engraved hand on the flooring of the avenue. It was a dream come true! *wink*. Though the weather was very cold with our feet very sore, that didn't stop us from the thing we all loved to do... taking pictures!

HongKong Experience (Ngong Ping 360)

Our first day in Hongkong was full-packed. We went to Tung Chung to meet up with my brother who flew in from Manila with his girlfriend. While waiting for them, we toured the city gate mall. It is a mall with so many outlet stores in it. They have almost all of the branded products there is in the sports and fashion industries. My brother finally arrived at around 11:30, we got our ticket ride to the famous Ngong Ping cable car. It was an enchanting 30 minutes rides. The view from the top is very breathtaking. We arrived at the top and found a very nice mini city with a perfect view of the asia's biggest buddha. We strolled along their busy street and of course took pictures of almost everything we found very fascinating. On our way down, back to Tung Chung, we took a different route, this time it a long and winding bus ride. The trip was so worth it, first, I overcomed my fear of heights then finally being able to have a glimpse of the historical buddha. So worth it!!!

Web Hosting Review

Almost all of our daily transactions at present involve the use of computers and internet. Companies are now providing their own websites in order to be accessible to everybody. These companies are provided with a domain by their Web host company.
web hosting review services include file uploading, file transfer and e-mailing services to their clients. I happened to check into some of the web hosting reviews and found out how reader friendly their sites are and they are neatly categorize that anyone who tries to visit their sites will be guided accordingly. In addition, most of them offer unlimited memory space, e-mail accounts and domain hosting. So, to all of you bloggers, who are in search for a new web hosting service and who simply finds pleasure in sharing their thoughts and feelings to others, try checking out webhostinggeeks and see it for yourself!

Hongkong Experience Boarding Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 724

It was a rainy Friday afternoon,me, mom and dad together with my brother Marvyn and my hubby Ronald headed to the airport for an early check-in for our 8:30 pm flight for Hong Kong. We meet up with my mom's friends at the airport and waited for 30 mins before we boarded the aircraft.

Hongkong Experience (Arrival)

We arrived in Hongkong at around 11:30 in the evening of March 13, friday. The weather was very cold, its like they had a very huge air conditioning system outdoors. I was so impressed with their airport! It is very very huge and neatly organized. It was a little confusing when it comes to signages and instructions because we can't understand Cantonese. *wink* We took the flat escalator for faster travel and upon reaching the immigration booth, we helped ourselves with some of the brochures and maps of Hong Kong. At the immigration department, picture taking is not allowed. I was asked by the one inside the booth of my purpose for the trip and who I was with. Luckily, they let me through. We then headed for the baggage carousel. It was not like here in the Davao, it is a lot bigger and very high tech. After we got all our luggages, we purchased the octupus card for easy access to their mtr system and almost all of their stores their.

How to Dance in the Rain

It was a busy morning, about 8:30, when an elderly gentleman in his 80's arrived to have stitches removed from his thumb. He said he was in a hurry as he had an appointment at 9:00 am.

I took his vital signs and had him take a seat, knowing it would be over an hour before someone would to able to see him. I saw him looking at his watch and decided, since I was not busy with another patient, I would evaluate his wound. On exam, it was well healed, so I talked to one of the doctors, got the needed supplies to remove his sutures and redress his wound.

While taking care of his wound, I asked him if he had another doctor's
appointment this morning, as he was in such a hurry..

The gentleman told me no, that he needed to go to the nursing home to eat breakfast with his wife. I inquired as to her health.

He told me that
she had been there for a while and that she was a victim of Alzheimer's Disease.

As we talked, I asked if she would be upset if he was a bit late.

He replied that she no longer knew who he was, that she had not recognized him in five years now.

I was surprised, and asked him, 'And you still go every morning, even though she doesn't know who you are?'

He smiled as he patted my hand and said,

'She doesn't know me, but I still know who she is.'

I had to hold back tears as he left,

I had goose bumps on my arm, and thought,

'That is the kind of love I want in my life.'

True love is neither physical, nor romantic.

True love is an acceptance of all that is,

has been, will be, and will not be.

With all the jokes and fun that are in e-mails, sometimes there is one that comes along that has an important message. This one I thought I could share with you

The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the best of everything they have.

I hope you share this with someone you care about. I just did.

Life isn't about how to survive the storm,

But how to

dance in the rain

DVD

My friend jing and I went to one of the malls here in Davao after our 7-3 duty. I paid my bills and she was looking for something at the department store. While we were about to leave the mall, we spotted a dvd store. We decided to dig in and look for our favorite television shows and movies. I found myself a Gossip Girl season 1 dvd and a twilight dvd. Though I already watched the movie, I still would like to have a copy of it for keeps. Jing and I went home with a smile on our face. We were so excited to watch those dvds that we bought and planned to swap our dvds after we finished watching it.

Benign

Just arrived from my graveyard shift duty. Thank God no untoward events happened. Our patient has a good night sleep with no arrhythmias nor discomforts noted. We are so delighted that our patient is responding to our care and the treatment very well. At around 5:30 a.m. we prepared him for his scheduled CTT insertion @ 9 am to drain the excess fluid in his lungs. I am proud to say that he seems to be very pleased with the way we care for him. Now, we are hoping and praying that his recovery will continue until he will be discharge from our unit

How to Stay Fit at Home

I noticed that I am getting bigger and bigger. My uniforms used to be very loose now it fits snugly to my body. I decided to trim down a little. I've searching the net for some exercises that I can do at home. Here's what I found...

  1. Look around and see all the exercise that we could be getting right at home. However, we first need to reset our minds in to getting back to our daily lives, instead of focusing on going to the Gym; or spending money on costly exercise equipment.
  2. While we are working on changing the way that we think, it is important that we all realize the importance of how we eat. Although, there are so many new studies that tell us something different everyday about food, we can figure some things out for ourselves; and find a plan that works for each of us as individuals.
  3. Realize that it is crazy the way that TV portrays things, like someone that wears a size ten, gets down to a size one...like a size ten was too Big, Not! Then to top it off shows us someone claiming to be in a size one, when it is obvious they are much bigger. But, naturally that will get blamed away by saying TV adds (ten to fifteen) pounds on you; and if that's the case, then some people on TV look like spaghetti noodles. Plus if that's the case, well some of the Movie Stars that are claiming to be over weight aren't, it's just TV...if they stayed off TV (they would look thinner); therefore, they would lose weight automatically...and a career.
  4. Now that we are done resetting our minds lets look at simple (good old fashion) home chores to stay fit; such as sweeping the porch, pulling weeds by hand, trimming hedges, wiping down the counter tops in the kitchen, taking down curtains and washing them, feather dusting the walls, dusting and polishing furniture. There is always something to do around the house that will keep you fit; thus you'll have a clean environment in which to live... plus you'll stay healthy and looking good.
  5. Now since you are already working out, why not take time out from chores and hop on an exercise bike to take yourself for a ride; then later while relaxing (in front of the tube) do a few simple curls with a small dumb bell...while being proud of all that you accomplished in a days time.
  6. If you are a video game fan, buy Dance dance revolutioin or if you have a wii, buy wii fit. They are fun and a GREAT ways to excercise. It provides a challenge and you also have music to listen too.
  7. If you are hyper and bored and stuck at home, jump around the house. Literally hop. Anything that causes you to sweat will help you turn body fat into muscle or just burn it off.

Women vs. Rheumatoid Arthritis

Rheumatoid Arthritis was one of my diagnoses when I was hospitalized two weeks ago. At first, I questioned my attending physician how come she diagnosed me with rheumatoid arthritis even though my presenting symptom was basically a flank pain. The pain was throbbing and unbearable and usually peaks early in the morning when the temperature is cold. According to my physician, this kind of arthritis not only affects the joints but basically affects other organs and tissues in the body including the rib cage. She then subjected me to different laboratory work-ups and treatment modalities. I was scheduled to some diagnostic procedure that includes an ultrasound of my kidney, ureter and bladder plus an ultrasound of the pelvis. It was confirmed then that there was really an inflammation and probably the reason of the pain I was complaining about. Having the results at hand, my physician prescribed me with Ciprofloxacin and Celebrex for pain and inflammation. According to her, I need not take the second line of RA drugs since I was able to have my self checked at an early stage, with only a minimal tissue and joint injury. Good thing that these anti-rheumatoid arthritis drugs are now made available in the market. These RA drugs have also been proven to alleviate the symptoms and somehow prevent further discomfort and injury to the tissues and joints. My advise, have an early check up to prevent further tissue and joint damage.

Here's my TOP 5 Women
